This is to open start a conversation about longer-term goals that this community could work towards, and how to achieve them. All contributions are warmly welcomed!
Some initial ideas to kick things off:

Unifying different implementations: it should be possible to reproduce calculations with identical results regardless of the user’s preferred software.

Future-proofing: the tools need to keep up with developments as the field advances, for example, updated parameterisations, better uncertainty propagation, organic alkalinity, saturation states for more minerals, dealing with overdetermined systems.

Teaching materials: we could produce a set of worked examples on how to do certain common calculations - with the same set of examples translated across all the different tools.

SCOR Working Group: if we can build some momentum here and develop a clear strategy, this could provide funding for us to come together and make real progress towards our goals.
